Oh darn! I guess shit happens-

Just completed a lanyard order for a lovely customer and turns out I'd made the loop too short for proper wear <:-0 Thank goodness she's understanding. Gonna mail these Tie-Your-Own-Lanyard fun packs to her.

:)

Sweet:) A customer mailed me a picture of a drawing I'd made on a package, as her new bookmark for the Bible.

Post-Amsterdam

Crochet Hats handmade by Joo.
Available in store now:
A small collection of beautiful crochet caps and beanies made by artist, Sia Joo Hiang.

Jenny the Apple Collector
Made Jenny a couple of days after getting back home.
Based on a rough sketch I'd made while in Amsterdam.

Custom Order: A New 'Mom'
Custom-made 'Mom' plush to replace the previous piece that had been lost in a freak accident.

A first for me: To create a plush in likeness to the one that I'd made about 3 years ago (seen in the postcard right next to the new plush. 'Dad' is the one in blue). Was fun rummaging for the right fabrics to match the previous piece.

Amsterdam- Cats

Above: Spotted this cat running around an antique shop.
Below: Spotted these two inside a person's home.
Snoozing inside a pet shop's window display.

Amsterdam Day 13,14

Love the shape of this building.
It looked a little plumper than the rest.
My friend spotted this antique shop, whose collection was everything medical-related. The owners of the shop, an elderly couple goes around collecting antique medical bottles, tools, instruments, signboards...etc to stock in their shop.
Below: A cabinet of saws used for brain surgeries in the 18th century. On a more joyous note, found a polka-dot themed store.
Below: Everything polka-dot right here in this shop.
Below: Visited the Sex Museum. Can be rather awkward 'cause you are looking at porn with a lot of strangers. So everyone's kinda giving the giggles in order to lighten up the otherwise, erotically-charged atmosphere.
Below: Porn pokercards (?)
Love the illustrations and colors.
Below: Vintage dirty mags.
Found a cut-out bunny standing by a sealed window.
A bookshop's wonderful cut-out houses window display to mark the release of
"Amsterdam Made by Hand', a beautiful book by Pia Jane Bijkerk.

Amsterdam Day 10, 11, 12

Visited NEMO, Amsterdam's version of Science Park. I love the building (designed by Renzo Piano). It is shaped like a giant ship, and is perfect resting right next to the open river. It is made of copper too, and its greenish color comes from years of exposure to the weather. The interior of the building is a little disappointing though, looking a lot like a regular shopping mall. Except it is a science centre for children. Above: While walking to NEMO, spotted some ducks building their home out of found trash.

The next day, watched some cartoons before heading off.
Unfortunately, have no idea what the above cartoon is called.
I love its drawing style and colors!

Another sign to make sure dogs do their poo on the right side of the path.

Amsterdam Day 8,9

We visited Harlem, a quieter place compared to Amsterdam.
As it was a weekend, it was packed with festivities, so turns out it wasn't much quieter than Amsterdam. Still a whole load of fun though!

There was some construction going on, but this colorful streamer dangling around helped me discover Juffie's Warehouse, a colorful shop located inside the very building under construction.

Below: We got back to Amsterdam to meet a friend's friend at Vondelpark.
We saw a drunk peeing, naked children playing and families frying up sausages.
NEATO.
Below: Spotted a shop with colorful felted plush-toys and many curiosities.
Sadly it was closed.
Below: Pancake for Lunch. Not terribly swell for the Chinese stomach.
Above: A passageway through the university, selling 2nd-hand books.

Amsterdam- A Day at Artis Zoo

A grinning goat spotted at the petting zoo. He is actually sleeping!
Am very happy I took a snap of him.

Yup! I sure thought they were beavers. Till I saw the sign.
Captured below, Nutrias squabbling. The one on the left was trying to bite the other nutria.

Feeling defeated, he swam away.
Aye aye.

This was a very lovely section of the zoo.
Childrens' art are always so pure and a real joy to look at.

Awesome, awesome!

They are rodents (I think). One whole group of them running around.
Spotted one tucked between 2 logs, having a good sleep.

This was the portion of the zoo where the ostriches were.
And I thought it was funny to see these 2 critters walking around,
digging for nibbles.

Feeding time for the ducks, geese and visitors (pigeons).

A porcupine pooping at the corner of his booth.

Love how this bird is balancing itself.
