:)

Yesterday was quite a special day for me, for a long-time customer to my shop invited me over for a home-cooked meal at his home with his wonderful family. It was a joy meeting his sons, seeing their artworks adorned their walls and shelves. The youngest kid had one really funny plastic jar he had filled with water, pieces of cardboard paper and a sports car stuck right on the top of the mashed paper. It looked like a diorama of a car chase gone awry. And the older child shared with me beautiful potteries he had been creating as part of his pottery course: A flat squid! he had colored with pastel purples and greens, a pair of flat leaves with quirky circular textures and a bowl that had been magically embossed with the veins of a big leaf he picked up (that's his favorite, he says). There's some magic being brewed in the two little ones, and I'm pretty sure they had gotten those creative genes from their art-lovin' parents. And when night came and it's time to go, I am lucky to have borrowed 2 amazing books (pictured above) from the house:P

Thank you R, M and two Js, for the warm welcome. And little J, sorry I forgot to pack the drawing you'd made for me!

My Inner Demons (work-in-progress)

(Pictured Above): This month's the Hungry Ghost Festival!
And according to the lunar calender, this is the month where ghosts,
spirits and deceased ancestors are free to roam the Earth!

And strange enough, I've been working on a series called "My Inner Demons", inspired by nasty voices in my head telling me to go soak my head in mud! Everyone has their inner demon, and hey- mine resembles some of the wuzzly furboggy guys made below. They sure appear doinky and less threatening when they are not swearing and promising to break your soul.

(Pictured above) Wuzzly Inner Demons standing by the window.

What's new in the shop;)

(Pictured above) Squishy Plush Head!
And according to the maker herself,
squeeze it when you are overworked and
JUST completely stressed out.

Pins, necklaces and brooches handpainted by Minifanfan,
with her signature colorful doodles and quirky creatures!

(Pictured Above) Detail of bunnies sleeping by the side of the bowl.

Decorative clay bowls by Amy Woo.
Really love the colors and added details in her ceramic wares:-)

*Just arrived!* Wonderful embroidered brooches by Table Calender.
