'cause sewing should be fun!

 (Pictured above: R signed up for a class to make a sock bunny for her sister. Awesome!)

It certainly has been a fun year seeing the workshops come alive, with folks having fun picking up a needle to sew something from scratch.

Veta (sock crafter) has been conducting a couple of classes, and I'm still quite in awe of how she makes her creatures. She kinda sculpts the shapes of the animals as she goes along. Everything is so unplanned and that makes creating fun 'cause with everything improvised, it gives students space to explore alternatives to what they would like present in their creations.

Art should really be about what one wants to explore, apart from just learning how to make something from a template provided.

(Pictured below, to the right: L's sock pig made for her friend, or so she told us when signing up for the class. Last we heard, she couldn't bear to give it away. Bwahaha!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And some snapshots of sewing workshops conducted by yours truly:)
(Pictured below left-to-right: Mom, elder daughter with glasses and youngest daughter)
Apple Paperweights made by a mother and her two daughters. Was happy to hear that they went on making more apple paperweights after class. Yay!
(Pictured below)
And a snapshot of 9-year-old Y's plush tiger! There is Y's pencil drawing of a tiger character she'd seen on YouTube and wanted to create during the workshop.
We opted pom pom for ears and I helped her out with the tail. Everything else was completed by Y!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I sure am looking forward to seeing more wonky creatures made from these sewing workshops!
